Welcome to the Library at TCMS
Links to our blog and our library catalog are at the bottom of this page . . . scroll down!
The TCMS Middle School Library Catalog can now be accessed worldwide (that's scary!). That link is at the bottom of this page, too.
Staff
Mrs. Maas, Librarian
Mrs. Brown, Library Assistant
Hours
The Library is open almost every day from 7:30 until 3:00. Occasionally, when staff has meetings or appointments, the library must be closed. Students should have an alternate plan for these days.
Checking Out Books & Other Materials
Students may check out as many books as they need, as they will keep track of, and as they will return on time. Most books are checked out for two weeks, the exception being reference books (such as encyclopedias) which circulate for overnight only. Magazines do not circulate.
After School
Students (*) are welcome to stay in the Library after school. You must arrive by 2:15 and stay until 3:00. You do not need a pass. Snacks are not permitted. Plan to read or work very quietly. Rehearsing skits and other activities that distract others from their work is discouraged.
*Student athletes must report to the sports study hall in the cafeteria.
Use of Computers
All students may use the computer workstations in the library to consult our Library Catalog for the availability of books.
In order to use the Internet, you must have signed the School District’s Acceptable Use Agreement, and follow all of the rules contained therein.
Interlibrary Loan
Have you ever wanted to read the next book in a series but the library didn’t have it? Have you needed information on a topic that you were reporting on but the library didn’t have it? Maybe your literary group needs three or four copies of a book but the library only has two? Problem solved! Try using Interlibrary Loan!
Using selected websites, the Library Staff can tell you what is available in area libraries – we contact other school libraries almost every day to get students the books they need or want. Save yourself a trip to the store or to another library! Please ask Mrs. Maas or Mrs. Brown when you want something but don’t see it – we will do all that we can to get it for you!
