BCSD Visual Arts

Welcome to Brighton's Visual Art Department!

Brighton Central School District recognizes the uniqueness of all individual students and provides appropriate instruction to develop their artistic voices. Art is an essential element within the school and plays a primary role in the total development of the individual. The act of creating art provides students with the opportunity to develop their own visual solutions. They do this through hands-on learning, developing sensory awareness, visual literacy, reflection, and critical thinking. By creating an innovative and problem-based art education environment, students are willing to take risks, make connections, envision solutions, and express themselves.

At BCSD, we believe that the visual arts provide a foundation that leads to the discovery of new ways of thinking, problem-solving, and understanding a global world. Through the artistic process, our students develop a passion for innovation, creativity, and lifelong learning.
